Dry Ridge Moving: Growing Revenue More Than 20% in a Year of Reinvestment
Local and long-distance moving company in Asheville, NC.
The challenge
Dry Ridge Moving handles local and long-distance moves around Asheville, NC. Moving is a high-intent, short-window purchase. When someone needs a mover, they search, compare a few companies and book quickly, and a weak website or a scattered ad budget hands those jobs to competitors.
Owner Sean Lallouz described where the business had been: “I was trying to stop the bleeding and throwing a lot of resources at the problem without a lot of fine tuning.” He wanted revenue to grow, and he wanted the advertising to work harder for it.
The approach
A new website built to win the job. The new Dry Ridge Moving site launched in June 2019. Sean’s response on launch day: “Site looks great. I’m excited too.”
Real photos of the real crew. A team photo shoot in June 2019 replaced stock imagery, so prospective customers could see the people who would be handling their belongings.
Video in every length the ad platforms use. We produced an explainer video plus skippable, non-skippable and bumper ad cuts, so Dry Ridge could show up across video placements with a message built for each one.
Monthly lead reviews. Every month we reviewed search and Local Services Ads leads against seasonal demand, so spending decisions followed real results instead of habit.
The results
By December 2019, the slow season that usually hits movers was nowhere in sight. “Business is steady and hasn’t had the traditional drop off we normally expect,” Sean wrote.
At year end he summed it up: “We were able to do over 20% more in revenue over last year which is quite an accomplishment.” That growth came in a year when Dry Ridge was also reinvesting in the business, including the new website and new equipment.
The site was getting noticed by competitors too. “One of my competitors is a friend of mine and he told me that his SEO guy said that our website was awesome and that we were the main competition in the area. Good work!”
“It has been a pleasure working with you also and the benefits have been palpable. I do want to thank you and Roger for your efforts and success at helping right the ship.”Sean Lallouz, Owner, Dry Ridge Moving
